What is the Visibility Index and how is it calculated?
The Visibility Index is your Share of Voice in SEO — a weighted score that combines your keyword positions with their search volumes and expected CTR at each ranking tier. Unlike average position (which treats a drop from #1 to #3 the same as a drop from #40 to #42), the Visibility Index weights changes by their real traffic impact. A higher index means you dominate more of the available organic clicks in your niche.
How does the Content Health score work?
When you create a Content Brief in Serplight for a tracked keyword, the brief editor generates a Content Health score (0–100) based on how well your content covers the required topics, subtopics, and semantic keywords identified from the top-ranking SERP results. As your competition updates their content, the benchmark shifts — so the score reflects your content's freshness and completeness in real time.
How accurate is the daily rank tracking?
Serplight queries live Google search results directly at 06:00 UTC each day, scanning the top 100 organic results for your exact keyword, country, and device settings. There is no data sampling, no rolling averages, and no 2-3 day lag. The position recorded is the exact rank Google returned at the time of the check.
What is the difference between Serplight and Google Search Console for tracking keyword rankings?
Google Search Console averages your rankings over a date range and suffers from a 2-3 day data delay. It cannot show you granular daily position history, does not differentiate by device, and has no concept of Content Health or at-risk decay detection. Serplight checks the live SERP every day per keyword, per country, per device — and connects that data directly to your content workflow.
How many keywords can I track?
Free users can track up to 5 keywords. Starter plan gets 20, Pro gets 100, and Agency gets 500 simultaneously tracked keywords. Rank tracking uses its own separate quota and does not count against your SERP Analyzer or Content Brief usage.
Can I trigger a rank check before the daily cycle runs?
Yes. Each keyword has a manual "Check Now" button that runs a live SERP lookup instantly, outside the daily 06:00 UTC cycle. This is subject to a per-plan daily limit (5 manual checks on Free, up to 100 on Agency) to prevent abuse, but is ideal for verifying a ranking change immediately after publishing a page update.
